Mrs. Sargo’s Marine Ecology class and Mrs. James’s Jewelry crossed their skills to form a unique gift for Mrs. Schorr.
The photojournalism teacher asked Mrs. Sargo for the eyeballs and then handed them off to Mrs. James to glue them down. She cut the eyeball to make a flat side, to make it more stable to stay on the earring. In the end, the earrings were shiny, circular gold plates with a tiny, transparent squid eyes.
“I have gotten a lot of compliments,” said Mrs. Schorr.
“I have gotten a lot of compliments,” said Mrs. Schorr.
Along with the students, Mrs. Schorr learned a thing or two about squid. She learned that a squid has a beak.
