The National Math Honors Society (NMHS), sponsored by Ms. Wills, purchased t-shirts for its members in honor of Math Month.
“I bought a t-shirt because they are really cute, very clever, and I’m proud to be a part of the National Math Honors Society!” said junior Mary Connolly.
Members received their t-shirts during lunch at a NMHS meeting on March 6, 2012. The front of the T-shirt shows the Greek letters Mu Alpha Theta and the back says, “√-1 ♥ math,” which means “I love math.”
“I like being in NMHS because the people are passionate about the same thing I am and it’s ok to be nerdy,” said junior Maggie LaCourse.
During Math Month there will be some type of fun activity every week after school. So far there have been nonograms and coming soon, a Pi Day scavenger hunt, greedy pigs, and a sequence game.
“The best part about the NMHS is wearing the t-shirts and doing the activities after school during math month because they are really fun,” said Connolly.
