Sophomore long distance runner Jessica Harris set a league record by 8 seconds in the 800m and is now the 3rd sophomore in the nation.
Ten different schools competed in this year’s championships at PG County Sports and Learning Complex. The 4x400 relay of Erin McCloskey, Julianna Shearer, Ana White, and Jess Harris raced to a second place finish. In spite of many injuries, Mount de Sales placed 5th overall.
“We performed well as a team. We communicated with each other and I know that in the Outdoor Championships we’ll do even better,” said senior Courtney Geier.

Sprinter Geier was unable to compete at all because of shin splints before the start of Championships. Grace Duffy senior hurdler was forced to scratch her events because of a stress fracture.
“We are so proud of Jess. She is an amazingly talented athlete. She has contributed so much to our team and when know that come Outdoor Track she will do big things for herself and her team,” said junior Christina Sarver.
