Ready...Set...Go!

The competition was fierce, the stakes were set high, Mount de Sales faculty and students were ready to dance it out. In honor of student appreciation day Mrs. Schorr, Kelly Phelan, and Cara Dawson put together an assembly filled with relay races and exciting activities.
“I wish I had earplugs because the sound level in the gym was out of control it was so loud,” said Mrs. Schorr.
The first activity was a relay race with four different obstacles. Then we kicked off round two with a parachute relay! Mrs. Salazar and Ms. Collyer were teammates for that round, quite the crowd pleasers. Finally there was a giant game of freeze dance! Seniors Julie Ratcliffe and Angela Shipley won the crowd over with their dancing talent. Heavyweight National Champion Boxer Franchon Cruz made an appearance. She participated in the freeze dance competition! After all the games Franchon gave a small talk about her future goals for the Olympics and even sang! After Mrs. Schorr initiated a prayer circle around Franchon praying for her success on her way to the Olympics!
“I had so much fun on student appreciation day! It was great to see our whole school pumped up for friendly competition. I loved that the faculty was really into the races too. Meeting Franchon was awesome and she definitely made an impact on all the students,” said senior Meg Thomas.
